Sybil Ann Seehawer
Sybil Ann Seehawer
On July 20, 2007 Sybil was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer at the age of 30 in spite of previously "clear" pap smears. In the year following her diagnosis Sybil was so determined to beat cervical cancer she endured surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and travels back and forth to MD Anderson in Texas for clinical trials. Throughout her ordeal Sybil remained strong and fought to stay with her two young children as the thought of leaving them was not something she could imagine.

During her illness Sybil was assisted emotionally and financially through multiple fundraising efforts by her friends to help offset daily living expenses while she underwent treatment. Sybil began to refer to her friends as her "angels". It was from the help she received during one of the most difficult times in her life she set out planning how she could help other women facing the same situation when she recovered.

Sadly on September 13, 2008 Sybil's body could no longer fight and it released her from over a year of pain and struggle. It is in her name; we as her friends move forward to help others in order to ensure Sybil and her dream are not forgotten.

Sybil inspired many people during her last year with her determination to fight and remain positive. Her spirit and memory live on through this foundation and the women who are touched by it.
